What's in a consultation, and why do I need one?
The consultation is part of every service here at Verde, whether you’re just getting a trim or getting your hair coloured for the first time. It happens at the very beginning of your service, and is one of, if not the most important parts of your service. Here’s why:
Discussing your hair goals
The consultation is the best time for us to really discuss your hair goals, before we actually begin your service. This is when you can show us any “inspo” photos you may have, and we can discuss what your end goal is and how we can get you there, while maintaining the health of your hair. This is also where we can learn about any previous colour or treatments you may have in your hair, as we may need to remove old colour or adjust your new colour so the result is just as you want it.
Discover your hair type
Not all hair types cut, style, and fall the same way, so it’s super important for us to also understand your hair type before we begin your service. We’ll ask questions about any hair concerns you may have and how you view your hair (thin, thick, coarse, or fine, for example), and from here we can determine what your hair type is. Once we know this, we will have a better plan for helping you achieve your hair goals. This also allows us to provide you with product recommendations and hair care tips best suited to you.
Save time during your service
Taking an extra few minutes at the beginning of your service can actually save us time during the service! When we have a good understanding of your hair type, thickness, and condition, we know exactly what products to use and steps to take to achieve your desired look before we even begin, making the service itself run more smoothly.
Provide you with an accurate quote
It’s super important we provide you with the most accurate quote before your service begins to avoid any surprises at the end. Whether you’ve coloured your hair before or not, how thick your hair is, and your specific hair type are all factors that affect how many bowls of colour we’ll need to achieve your goals, and more bowls will equal a higher cost. Discussing these factors beforehand allows us to know exactly how much product we’ll need for your service, in turn, allows us to give you an accurate quote.
