Discussing what look you want with your stylist and how you can achieve it is the best way to ensure you leave happy. Find a stylist that listens and isn’t afraid to ask questions and check in with you throughout your service. If your stylist can also help you build a personalized hair care routine to help you maintain healthy hair at home, that’s even better! Offering quotes up front
Consultations are incredibly important for avoiding the dreaded sticker shock some people can face after an appointment. Talking with a stylist beforehand is a great way to discuss your hair goals and determine what service will get you the look you want while staying within your budget, so there’s no surprises. Keep in mind: a stylist can only offer you an accurate quote after they’ve seen your hair. This is a big reason why we offer complimentary consultations — they allow us to fully understand your hair’s current state, how much product we’ll need to achieve your goals, and in turn, how much it will all approximately cost.
Eco-friendly practices and products
Salon waste isn’t often compatible with local recycling programs — excess colour, foils, and hair clippings add up quickly, and typically go right in the trash and into landfills. Salons that actively work towards reducing their ecological footprint, whether saving water and electricity or recycling and repurposing unused materials, is a salon you should be proud to go to.
